Note : This product has been handwoven, naturally dyed and block printed with hand. Slight variations in colour, design or weaving are a natural result of this handcrafted process.

Craft Process

Bagru (direct block printing) and Dabu printing (mud resist print) are traditional textile techniques from Rajasthan.

The fabric is first washed and treated with myrobalan (harda), a natural mordant and colour fixer. It is then sun-dried, after which the outlines are block-printed using a mixture of iron and jaggery.

For Dabu printing, a mud paste is applied to selected areas according to the design. Block printing with the desired colours follows, and the fabric is washed multiple times at specific stages, depending on the colours and design.

The fabric is then boiled (bhatti karna) to fix the dyes and enhance their vibrancy. Finally, the fabric is treated with alum, another natural mordant, washed thoroughly, and sun-dried.

Care

  • Gentle handwash with rock salt or mild baby shampoo inside out in cold water. Don't rub the fabric.
  • No machine wash | No bleach | No detergent
  • Dry in shade
  • Iron on the reverse side with low heat
  • Keep away from moisture and store in cool dark place

Note : Natural dyes like indigo will slightly have a colour run off in the first few washes and that's completely normal as the excess dye is removed, after which the colour will be fixed with proper care. We celebrate ageing of clothing and see perfection in small handmade imperfections!

Packaging

Our packaging box is made with 100% recycled paper
Hangtags are made using recycled brown jute and 100% recycled kraft paper on which plant-based dyes are used for printing.

We use seed papers made for our inserted information cards that you can plant!

Garment is sent in a cotton bag to ensure breathability and safe storage in a cold and dry place.
